Acapulco isn’t only for Spring Break!
Over the last few months we have been musing over all of the events that we have held in Acapulco in the past, our favorite hotels, and more. We’d now like to take the time to discuss the recent and current events that have been going on in our favorite Spring Break destination. Let’s also remember that Acapulco is a beautiful destination to visit all year round; not solely during Spring Break, so there is always something going on there!
2012 went out with a bang…
We’d first like to backtrack to November, when Acapulco hosted their hot air balloon festival and the Al Extremo Air Show. Both of these events attracted locals, as well as travelers and tourists from all over, who come to Acapulco in search of unique events such as these. There was then the Acapulco Film Festival in December, which was studded with Hollywood stars such as Salma Hayek. What an awesome way to close out 2012!
It’s been a happy new year in Acapulco!
As we moved into 2013, the Acapulco nightlife was ready to take the scene by storm with an astounding display of 70,000 fireworks on New Year’s Eve at Santa Lucia Bay. This was a spectacle of epic proportions, and reminiscent of the “New Year’s Eve” themed parties we used to host in Acapulco each week during Spring Break, which also involved wonderful firework displays at the culmination of the countdown to midnight.
Then, on January 14th, the legendary deadmau5 visited this historic Mexican city and tore up Mundo Imperial, delivering an unforgettable set until the wee hours of the morning. Events such as these get us even more amped up to get back down to Acapulco and to begin planning for top DJs to hit our favorite clubs on the map with us during Spring Break. You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced the nightlife and other special events that Acapulco has to offer, so we better see you there soon!
There’s plenty more to come…
As we continue into the year, Acapulco has many more plans penciled in on their schedule, including the Mexican Tennis Open, which is taking place from February 25th through March 2nd. The Mexican Tennis Open brings tremendous athletes such as Rafael Nadal to this beautiful, tropical destination.
Our friends in Acapulco are more excited than ever that they are able to host such huge events, and they can’t wait for the spring breakers to come back to their amazing city. Stay connected with our friends on Facebook and Twitter for upcoming local happenings.
