4 Drinking Games for Summer 2017

Share on FacebookTweet about this on Twitter

Let’s face it, what’s better than a summer party? We’ll be the first to say, not much! Being such advocates of having fun in the sun we want to share with your our top 4 favorite drinking games that were basically made for parties during the summer.

These games are not only fun and interactive, but they will definitely give you a very nice buzz, for those of you who are 21 and older, of course. With these, and like all other drinking days, it’s important to remember to DRINK RESPONSIBLY, PLAY RESPONSIBLY, and YOU WILL HAVE NO REGRETS! Make sure your phones are charged so you can catch your Uber or make sure you have a couch to crash on, and be sure to stay hydrated and put on sunscreen! (Thanks mom, I’m starting to sound more and more like you every day).

Beer Ball:Four Loko in Cancun

  • 2 cans of beer per person
  • 2 pong balls
  • A long rectangular table
  • 4 or 6 players

How to play:

  • Split into two teams, each team takes an opposite side of the table (like beer pong)
  • Each player puts the beer cans (unopened) in front of them
  • The player with the ball starts by throwing it at the opposing teams’ beer cans (this game is played in turn-based fashion)
  • If the ball makes contact with one of the cans, the player who threw the ball will start drinking
  • The opposing team scrambles to pick up the ball and touch it to the table
  • If the ball hits the can and rolls on the table, the team that got hit still needs to pick up the ball and tap it back on the table
  • The first team to finish all their beers is the winner, and gets to go first for the next round!

Slap Cup:

What you’ll need:

  • A big and preferably circled table (but your typical pong table will work as well)
  • 2 pong balls
  • At least 26 Solo cups
  • Beer

  • Place 23 Solo cups in the center of the table, each filled a little less than halfway with beer
  • The 24th cup is to be filled with a whole beer
  • Gather around the table

How to play:

  • Two randomly chosen players start off with the balls. They tap ping pong balls and then quickly grab a cup, drink the beer and then try to bounce the ball into that empty cup
  • If a player makes the shot on their first try they can then pass the cup to anyone on the table (always pass the cup with the ball in it)Slap Cup: a very popular drinking game
  • If a player takes more than 1 try to get the ball into the cup they can only pass the cup along to the player directly to the right of them
  • If a player sinks the ball into the cup and the player to the right is still shooting, the successful player can slap the cup off the table
  • Pass your cup with the ball to the right of the player whose cup you just slapped
  • The player who just got their cup slapped from the table has to grab one of the cups from the center, chug the beer, then proceed to bounce the ball into the cup
  • This process of shooting, slapping, and drinking will continue until the final and full cup of beer has been drunk by the last player who’s cup got slapped

Tools you’ll need:

  • A sturdy tree stump large enough for 5 or more people to stand around
  • Hammer
  • Nails (ideally 4-6 inches)
  • Booze, preferably beers

  • 1 nail per player
  • Claim your spot around the stump and hammer the nail on the surface of the stump. On the surface and just deep enough so it is standing on it’s ownCollege students tailgating and playing stumps, the drinking game

Rules of the game:

  • The first player will toss the hammer so it makes a 360-degree rotation in the air
  • Upon grabbing the handle, the player needs to bring the head of the hammer down immediately, in one swift movement and hit any one of the opponents nail. Hopefully driving the nail deeper into the stump
  • You cannot hesitate hitting the hammer on the nail; you need to be quick on your feet
  • Whomever’s nail was hit will take a drink
  • Continue to pass the hammer counterclockwise
  • When a players nail is fully hammered into the log, they are eliminated and must finish their drink
  • If the nail bends when it is hit, then as courtesy of the other players, you are permitted to drink and straighten it
  • If the hammer creates a spark when contacting the nail, everyone yells ‘spark’ and takes a sip
  • If a player drops the hammer during the toss or misses the nail they their turn and has to take a drink
  • If a player misses hitting the nail they have to drink
  • Please, be careful with this game!

  • The Frisbee must always be thrown from behind the pole
